0:00 Intro and Basics before scanning

0:24 What do you need the ultrasound for? Depending on your answer you may buy the appropriate probe.

0:45 What are your clinical settings? You work in one hospital floor? Then it may be enough with a stationary machine. If you work in many different hospital floors, you may need an mobile machine that you have in your pocket.

1:10 The price:

Stationary machines may cost tens of thousand of dollars.

A mobile machine can cost well under ten thousand of dollars.

1:47 Talk to your hospital IT-department. Is the machine that you want to buy compatible with the Hospitals ITsoftware?

3:00 It is very important that your ultrasound machine is easily accesible (as few barriers as possible).

3:37 Common settings on an ultrasound device:

Depth

Gain  (brigthness)

Most modern machines have great presets.

Freeze  (do not forget rolling backwards)

Measure (Calc Set Ξεfreeeze)

How to Record a Video (for most machines preset time 3-5 sec). It is easier to evaluate a video than a still image.
