Shuttle bus between Kavala city and Kavala airport ( KVA / LGKV ).

There is a shuttle bus running twice daily between Kavala city’s bus station in the middle of the city of Kavala and Kavala’s airport (35 kilometers away).

The trip takes about 30 minutes.

At the time being ( 22 August 2016 ) the one way bus ticket costs 5 euro while a taxi charges for the same trip 38 euros.

The shuttle bus departs from Kavala central bus station ( Μητροπολίτου Χρυσοστόμου 4, Καβάλα, 65403 = Mitropolitou Hrisostomou 4, Kavala, 65403 ). You can spot the exact place in www.maps.google.gr here: https://www.google.se/maps/@40.9357788,24.4086919,20.25z

The bus runs twice daily. The first tour is in the morning and next one in the afternoon. It usually departs from Kavala central bus station  90 – 75 minutes before the flights to Athens.

It departs from Kavala airport to the town of Kavala about 15-20 minutes after the landing of the flight from Athens.

In Greece however it is usual that timetables change without warning (!) this is the reason why I recommend to check the times by calling the bus station at +30 2510 22 22 94 or +30 2510 22 35 93 ). It may be helpful to have a greek speaking person beside you, when calling, just in case the civil cervant cannot communicate in English.

In case you miss the shuttle bus do not panic. When landing to Kavala airport besides the shuttle bus there is a taxi stand exactly outside the main door of the airport.
       

For the time being the shuttle bus is a small one ( a mini bus with only 19 seats).
